I really don't know what to say about the news of John Edwards' affair and possible love child. However, Beth Newman, the Christian Ethics professor at my seminary alma mater has a nice column about how ill-equipped our nation and culture is to negotiate the public and private lives of politicians and other people in the spotlight. Christianity does, according to Newman, script for dealing with both our public and private selves.Grace and Peace,
